Garden
super 8mm, and animation, 10min
This short film is based on the statistic that every second six new constructions
are built in the United States. The film starts out with idealic super
8 footage of a canopy of ferns, after a one minute loop of this footage,
blue prints of houses start appearing on the screen at a rate of six every
one second. Eventually the blueprints completely obscure the footage playing
underneath. This piece was installed in the window garden at Madarts studios
in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The plants and their silhouettes are meant to
interact with the footage visually and conceptually.
