When Esy and I were in the Philippines in January we interviewed the national artist Ben Cab. The interview is featured this week on Art Asia Pacific Magazine and for eternity on Perinspire.
Esy Casey’s new film (which I will be helping with),
JEEPNEY, visualizes the richly diverse cultural heritage of the Philippines through its boldly decorated and ultimately iconic mass transport vehicle.
I’m participating in this great panel with fellow professors at Suny Old Westbury on Monday March 28th.
Esy Casey and I went to the Philippines in January to eat fresh see urchin, party with el Petit Señor, pretend we were beach dogs, and meet some amazing artists and crafts people.
We met BenCab at his inspiring museum where we filmed for hours in the magical grounds with acres of organic farm, aviary and coy pond.
We interviewed the acclaimed director, Brillante Mendoza, about his new project.
Clips will be posted shortly on Perinspire.com
We also spent an after noon at Saroa Motors for Esy’s new secret project…stay tuned.
And I started the first chapter of a lifelong window diary.
I graduated! Here’s a still from my installation. For more info…
I shared the stage with fantastic media makers Fivel Rothberg and Sabastan Gutierez
